In the Spring, rowing teams race in a head to head competition with all boats starting at the same time , each boat poised at a start line in its own lane. Spring sprint racing generally utilizes a 1500 – 2000 meter course and it is the most exciting rowing race to watch. The USRowing Youth National Championships are sprint races.
The Spring 2012 Racing Schedule is as follows:
Monday – Friday -April 16-20, 2012 - Spring Break, 3-5 Hour practices each day.
Saturday, April 21, 2012 – Wayland/Weston Regatta
Location: Wayland Town Beach, Wayland, MA
Who will race: Boys and Girls Varsity and experienced Novices
Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, 2012- Saratoga Invitational
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Team will depart from Harvard, MA at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2012. Team will travel together by luxury coach bus and lodge overnight as a group in Saratoga Springs, NY on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. Team returns to Harvard on Sunday, April 29. See race information tab for additional details regarding overnight lodging.

Saturday, May 5, 2012 - Lowell Novice Challenge
Location: Lowell, MA Merrimac River
Who will race: Novice Team only. Will include all new rowers in the program. Varsity Crews will not race this day.
Sunday, May 6, 2012 – TBA. Varsity Crews ONLY will race this day.
Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13, 2012 – Lowell Invitational
