May 30, 2015 – Noon to 3 pm – Harvard Town Common

In life and in sport, we paddle hard – young or old, rain or shine, in the heat or the cold –
to the finish line, because we are, all of us, IN THE SAME BOAT.

Special thanks to our sponsors!

BHRA is proud to offer the sport of rowing to 90 high school youth in Harvard, Acton and Boxborough. Rowing develops self-discipline, commitment, teamwork, and leadership. Because they are “in the same boat” they must work together as a team. The lessons and experiences from rowing will help these young athletes become driven, dependable adults.

Please sponsor these student athletes for our May Ergathon. Your donation strengthens their future through rowing.

PayPal donations are limited to MA residents due to tax restrictions for non-profits.

Take a look at Ergathon 2014:

Q: How does it work?

Rowers will be seeking sponsorships during the month of May. On May 31 the ergs will be arranged on the Common under tents and rowers will be tasked with a 5 kilometer row to achieve their commitment to the event. The team as a whole has a goal of 450 kilometers (280 miles) for the 3 hour event.

Q: How do I donate?

You can sponsor an individual rower, or the team as a whole. An individual rower can be sponsored through the on-line donation system (enter the rower’s name in the “Info” box) or by contacting them directly. To sponsor the team as a whole use the donation system and choose “Ergathon Fundraiser” on the pulldown menu. The on-line donation system is here. We also accept traditional checks as described here.

Q: Can a business sponsor the team?

If you are a business owner we would welcome your sponsorship. The steps are the same as those above. There is an opportunity for placement on our T-shirt and website. Follow the steps above, but send an e-mail to so we can start this process.

Q: Are there other ways to sponsor?

At the highest sponsorship levels are boat naming opportunities. Details and contact information are available here.

Q: How will the money be used?

Funds raised are used for equipment including boats and oars for the girls and boys varsity and novice teams.
Five percent of proceeds are donated to Loaves and Fishes food pantry.
