ERGON is the hottest, most fantastic mind-body workout to hit the gym! Experience a new adult fitness class that uses the ergometer (also known as an “indoor rower”) as the centerpiece, similar to a spinning class. Core strengthening exercises and lightweight lifting will be included. Whether you are a “first timer” or a cardio-enthusiast looking for a new challenge, this unique, fun and energizing workout is a perfect way to get and stay fit….for life!

This winter ERGON expends its program offerings to include a variety of fitness workout options beyond the erg and an added bonus, strength training. We have multiple conditioning equipment (stepper, bikes and elliptical), as well as weight lifting machines and free weights available in the rental space.

We are excited about moving back to In-Person sessions. With a 7,800 sq. ft. space, there is plenty of room for significant social distancing while working out.  In-Person provides our participants with access to more training and equipment options. It also provides our coach with a much better platform for effective coaching and immediate feedback.

Bare Hill Rowing Association is committed to the health and safety of its members and the greater community as a top priority.  We operate in accordance with protocols set forth by USRowing, the national governing body of the sport of rowing, as well as State, local and town regulations.

  • Masks will be worn at all times during indoor classes.
  • Each athlete will be given a 15' x 14' space.
  • Ergs will be assigned so there is no sharing in the course of a day.
  • State and Local COVID protocols will be followed.
  • Athlete will need to provide their own yoga mat and resistance bands for stretching and training. Athletes are responsible to sanitize their personal items between each use.
  • Sanitizing supplies will be provided.

We are using 2 large “scrubbers” to purify the air (the Aeroclean 2000 Airmachine model # 9143). They will run throughout the practice times. We will also provide cross ventilation by keeping the front and back doors open.

The ADULT fitness class will use the Concept2 Ergometer, as well as the C2 bike and other fitness machines.  An additional weight lifting portion of the program will be available to those who wish to participate.  A participant will have then option to train only on the erg, if that is their preference. The 7,800 square feet space offers lots of room for significant social distancing.

  • A non-competitive program, go-at-your-own-pace.
  • 2 classes per week for 6 weeks.
  • Individual instruction and targets for improvement.
  • Train at our indoor space at 254 Great Road, Acton, in the Gould Mall near Donelan's Supermarket.  Plenty of parking.
  • Fantastic early spring cross-training for other sports.
  • No experience necessary!

ERGON staff will coach and train you so that you, too, can benefit from the sport of rowing. Fitness fans have made indoor rowing the most popular workout across the country.
