LEVEL IIĀ SCULLINGĀ

Take the next step in our Level II Course
Sculling for Intermediate Rowers - Youth (12 years+) to Adults

All participants (including the parents of minor-aged participants) are responsible for the information in this Tab and in the information Tabs for:  Forms and Policies.

Level II Sculling is for the individual who has completed a Learn to Row: Intermediate level sculling program or has previous sculling/sweep rowing experience. This class will take you to the next level of rowing or provide a refresher course for those who have been out of rowing for a while. Scullers will use a narrower width boat and may be part of a team boat such as a Quad or a Double. The goal of the class is to help you improve your rowing skills and be given simple workouts to execute. Each session is four 80-minute classes.

Passing a flip test is mandatory and will be part of the beginning of the class. If you passed a flip test at the end of your LTR class, that will be counted. Coaches will determine a participant's class readiness at their discretion.

A flip test shows your ability to flip a single while in it and then get back into the boat without assistance. A coach will supervise this test. If you are unable to complete getting back into the single, you will be required to wear a belt style life preserver. similar to a fanny pack and wearable while rowing.

Classes meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

PARKING AT POND
  • Harvard residents WITHOUT beach parking stickers and for non-residents: NO parking at the beach for summer rowing. Please use the lot at the top of the hill (below the library lot). It’s a 5’ walk to the pond on the path to the right of the road.
  • Harvard residents WITH beach parking stickers who are only participating in the rowing program are also asked to park in the lot at the top of the hill (not library) as well. This is to ensure parking at the beach for those folks taking programs offered by the town. BHRA requests your cooperation.
