Taylor Wright
Girls Novice 

Taylor started her rowing career in 2012 at the Winsor School in Boston. At Winsor, she had undefeated rowing seasons in both 2015 and 2016, and she captained the team for the 2015-2016 school year. Winsor won the NEIRA Girls Four Team Points Trophy all four years she rowed for the school. While at Winsor, Taylor also competed for the varsity swim team for six years and served as swim team captain for the 2015-2016 season. During the summers, Taylor rowed for Charles River Scullers. With CRS, Taylor won the u19 4x at the 2015 USRowing Club National Championships and placed second in the intermediate 4x at the 2016 USRowing Club National Championships. 

Taylor continued her rowing career at Colgate University, where she studied philosophy. At Colgate, Taylor was a representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Council and served as a captain of the rowing team for the 2019-2020 academic year. As a junior, Taylor spent a semester abroad studying philosophy at the University of St Andrews. At St Andrews, Taylor competed with the University of St Andrews Boat Club. She was a CRCA Scholar Athlete in 2019 and 2020. Taylor was the female recipient of the 2019-2020 Patriot League Sportsmanship Award, awarded to an athlete who upholds principles of fairness, equality, and excellence in academics and athletics and who demonstrates values of respect and integrity through a specific action ideally directed towards an opponent. In 2018, she took home the Colgate Rowing Raider Award, presented to the rower who best exemplifies what it means to be a Colgate student-athlete, striving for excellence both academically and athletically, leading with integrity, and supporting the team's culture. A lover of the Charles River, Taylor serves as co-chair of the HOCR Registration Committee.

Taylor hopes to be involved with rowing for the rest of her life and is excited to share her love of the sport with the BAB novices. In addition to rowing, Taylor enjoys illustration, printmaking, and architecture and has illustrated two books.


Chris Whitbeck
Boys Novice and Middle School Coach

Chris brings over 30 years years of experience as a teacher and principal in Massachusetts public schools. A graduate of Stony Brook University, where he played lacrosse and rugby, Chris completed his master's degree in psychology at Harvard University and a doctorate in education at Boston College. Chris has coached student-athletes from novice to varsity and is a trained coach of the Positive Coaching Alliance.  An avid cyclist, Chris lives in Acton and is excited to work with the BAB coaches and athletes this fall.
