Mark Lyvers

Mark, a Harvard, MA resident and sculler, and Syracuse University graduate, rower and coach returns to Bare Hill pond to coach at BABR. Mark began his rowing career in Hyde Park, New York where he was captain of his high school rowing team. From there, Mark went on to collegiate rowing at Division 1 Syracuse University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and earning an MBA in finance from Syracuse's Graduate School of Management. Mark established rowing as a varsity sport for women at Syracuse and served as the program's first Head Coach and Director. A successful businessman, Mark's passion for rowing never dimmed. Over the years, he has rowed and competed from the pond to the Olympic level and has coached a variety of programs including learn to row, high school, collegiate and master's. A Harvard resident since 1986, he is a self-taught sculler ("still learning after 40 years") and was the Co-founder of the original Bromfield rowing program and assistant coach for the first season. In 2014, Mark was inducted into Syracuse University's Rowing Hall of Fame, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the sport.
