Bare Hill Rowing Association is pleased to offer one-on-one private sculling lessons for those ages 18 and above with one of our coaches.

Open to Harvard residents and parents of the Bromfield Acton-Boxborough Rowing team members.

The 90-minute session takes place on Bare Hill Pond. Depending upon experience, a Peinert (beginner flat-bottom single) or racing level single and oars will be provided unless you wish to bring your own boat. The content of each lesson will be determined through discussions with the coach and the skill level of the participant.

Cost: $70 per individual session

Scheduling: Subject to coach availability. The date and time of your lesson will be arranged between you and your coach. Once your request is received, you will be connected with one of our coaches via email.

Equipment Use: Signing up for a private sculling lesson does not give you privileges to use the BHRA boats on your own unless you are registered with our Adult Experienced Program.

Payment: Payment is required in advance to schedule a private lesson. A coach may take a maximum of two students on the water for a concurrent lesson at the coach's discretion. The cost is still $70 per participant and each participant must register individually.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy: If you wish to cancel or reschedule your private lesson, 24 hours advance notice to your coach is required. Cancellations within 12 hours are responsible for 50% of the cost of the lesson. Cancellations within 3 hours are responsible for paying the full lesson amount. Cancellations by BHRA due to weather, coach unavailability or other reasons will be rescheduled or refunded based upon mutual coach-participant agreement and convenience.

Participation Policy: No participant is eligible to schedule a private lesson without having first submitted all required and satisfactorily completed paperwork (which includes a swim test verification form).
