VERY IMPORTANT! NEW FOR FALL 2021: You need to become a member of USRowing before starting registration. You will need to provide Member number and expiration date during registration. Membership must be good through the fall season and expire after November 1, 2021.

Current COVID policies for practice:
You will be asked during online Registration whether you have been COVID vaccinated or not. Proof should be made available if requested. Since you will be rowing in a single person boat, our mask wearing policies are:

  • Vaccinated participants are not required to wear of masks but are welcome to do so. While rowing masks do not need to be worn. 
  • Unvaccinated participants will be required to wear a mask at all times, except when rowing on the water. 
  • Mask protocols may change as local health guidance and circumstances warrant.

Program Description

The Learn to Row (LTR) Program is offered to adults 18 years and older. The program will be geared to the beginner with no rowing experience, but those continuing to develop their rowing skills or who haven’t rowed for years looking for a refresher course, are welcome to join us.

Six 90 minute sessions will be conducted over the course of six Saturdays. 
Instruction will start with the basics, then based on their skill, participants may progress to an intermediate level (narrower) single. On the water, participants will start by learning to scull in a stable, single-person boat built for beginners.

Program Prerequisites

  • Pass a 100-yard swim test. Download Swim Form HERE
    Swymfit in Boxborough offers swim tests
  • Beginner adult with no rowing experience, those continuing to develop their rowing skills or previous rowing experience in need of a refresher course.
