Longtime team parent, team photographer and friend, Mario passed away unexpectedly on March 21. Proud father, loving husband, inexhaustible supporter and volunteer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Bare Hill Rowing Association mourns the untimely loss of longtime team parent and friend, Mario Castaneda.

Mario passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2020. An integral part of the BHRA family, Mario was a team player.  Engaged volunteer, proud father and long-standing team photographer, he contributed to the club in a myriad of ways, always with a smile and his characteristic vitality and "can-do" attitude. A vigorous athlete himself, he was typically the one behind the camera for BHRA. His team photographs and candid’s provide an irreplaceable visual history of the athletes and club.

Mario was all about family. He loved his wife, Cathy, and their three sons, David, Mark and Peter. Family came first and he always made sure to spend quality time with them. He was so proud of all of them and never failed to show his love for them.

We will truly miss Mario. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time. His obituary may be found HERE
