All athletes are invited to participate in Winter Training - the registration link is at the bottom of this page.
Winter training is an important time to build fitness, strength, core stability, flexibility, and to work on technique. "Spring races are won in the winter"
Winter training includes rowing on ergometers, as well as strength training with Olympic lifts, and body weight exercises for general fitness, agility and injury prevention.
Athletes can choose to do 1 to 5 days a week. Athletes doing other winter sports can choose to train fewer days per week to cross train and keep in touch with rowing.

Holiday Break: Tuesday Dec 22 to Thursday Jan 1

Sending a team to CRASH-B’s is also an option - date is not set, typically is in February.
February Break: The 11 week program includes February break for athletes who will be here. During the February break, we are tentatively holding morning sessions at the Holy Cross indoor rowing tanks (image below) or other local college, Monday through Friday 9:30-11:30 am. The tanks replicate being on the water while a coach can give instructions as they walk next to the rower. This is an opportunity to get more technical work done in a controlled environment. Tank availability is being confirmed. An additional workout will be offered at the training space depending on participation.

No athlete should attend practice if they are not feeling well. If you experience Flu or COVID-like symptoms – stay home and get a COVID test. You should notify your coach so they know you will be absent.
Participants are welcome to wear a mask while working out.
From time to time we have an open practice for newcomers to give rowing a try. If you are interested in our next event, please contact the Program Director. A waiver is required.
